Joining former Michigan and Baltimore Ravens coordinator Mike Macdonald, Baker aims for a fruitful tenure at Lumen Field. His arrival fills a void in the Seahawks’ linebacker lineup, previously vacated by Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks. Baker, known for his commanding presence on the field, is anticipated to assume a leadership role akin to Wagner’s. His addition marks Seattle’s completion of both starting inside linebacker positions.

Drafted in the third round in 2018, Baker spent six seasons with the Dolphins, amassing impressive statistics, including 587 total tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 22.5 sacks, and five interceptions. With Baker’s signing, Seattle’s roster now boasts three former Ohio State players, including Dre’Mont Jones and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Smith-Njigba, having concluded a successful rookie season, recorded 63 catches for 628 yards and four touchdowns. Baker’s move to Seattle coincided with other significant transactions involving Ohio State alumni in the NFL, such as former quarterback Justin Fields being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers from the Chicago Bears.
