Breaking news: Blockbuster Trade Proposal Involves Sending $100 Million Eagles Player to Patriots

There are currently no indications that the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to part ways with A.J. Brown, but the possibility remains open with the right trade offer. Jake Ellenbogen of Bleacher Report has outlined various potential trade scenarios for the Eagles to consider involving Brown.

One hypothetical trade involves the Eagles receiving a package of draft picks from the New England Patriots. With the Patriots likely set to use the No. 3 overall pick on their future quarterback, they compensate for their lack of an additional first-round selection by offering three draft picks to Philadelphia in the proposed deal.

The Patriots possess a high second-round pick at No. 34, which is close to the value of a first-round selection. In this scenario, Brown would be traded to the Patriots, and in return, the Eagles would acquire a second-round pick (No. 34), a third-round pick (No. 68), and a fourth-round pick (No. 102) in the 2024 NFL draft.

During a live stream on March 7, 2024, Ellenbogen commented on the proposed trade, stating, “They only have one first-round pick. They’re not trading away the third overall pick. So, a second, a third, and a fourth-round picks for Brown. It’s a lot, but hey, what better way to usher in a new era of Patriots football than by acquiring a franchise quarterback at pick three to pair with Brown.”

Brown has consistently delivered in terms of production, yet his performance comes at a high cost. In the 2023 season alone, he achieved a career-best with 106 catches, amassing 1,456 yards and scoring 7 touchdowns across all 17 games.

Remarkably, Brown has surpassed 1,400 receiving yards in consecutive seasons. With three years left on his hefty four-year, $100 million deal, his impact remains significant.

His current cap hit for 2024 stands at a reasonable $12.4 million. However, this figure balloons to $26.5 million in 2025 and an astonishing $41.5 million in 2026, coinciding with Brown turning 29 years old.
