USC football continues its impressive streak on the recruiting front, securing a commitment from local three-star Upland (California) cornerback Trestin Castro on Tuesday morning. This marks the second commitment in as many days for USC, following four-star San Clemente (California) linebacker Matai Ta’aga.
Castro becomes the second defensive back recruit for Doug Belk, joining four-star Jacksonville (Florida) safety Hylton Stubbs. In total, Castro represents the eighth commitment in USC’s 2025 class. He joins a promising lineup including five-star Georgia quarterback Julian Lewis, five-star Georgia defensive lineman Justus Terry, and others.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 160 pounds, Castro is ranked as the No. 720 overall prospect and the No. 67 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite. Additionally, he is ranked as the No. 34 cornerback and the No. 31 recruit from California in the 247Sports rankings. Castro is scheduled to take his official visit to USC at the end of May. This commitment boosts USC’s class to No. 7 nationally.
