Recently, The Ohio State University football team has seen considerable success in recruiting, securing four significant commitments over the past weekend alone. The coaching staff is optimistic about this trend continuing with the announcement of four-star defensive lineman Landon Rink’s commitment today. However, there’s skepticism about whether Larry Johnson and his colleagues should expect immediate results.
Rink is presently ranked as the 315th player in the 2025 recruiting class and the 36th defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Hailing from Cypress, Texas, he is currently regarded as the 53rd player in the state. With offers from 40 schools, including Ohio State, Rink’s decision is rumored to be narrowed down to three options: Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
Having visited Columbus on the weekend of March 18 and scheduled an official visit to Penn State in June, Rink has also toured USC and Texas A&M. His recent visit to College Station suggests a potential inclination towards Texas A&M.

Presently, Rink has garnered five crystal ball predictions on 247Sports, all indicating a preference for the Aggies, including one from Ohio State recruiting authority Bill Kurelic logged on Tuesday afternoon. Kurelic’s forecast aligns with those of several highly informed recruiting analysts, suggesting that unless Rink is orchestrating a significant misdirection, it’s unlikely there will be any celebratory announcements emanating from the Woody at 10 a.m. ET when he reveals his decision.
Quick Hits:
Over the weekend, amidst the flurry of celebratory announcements, Ohio State quietly received a crystal ball prediction for UMass running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams. Despite playing three seasons with the Minute Men and two with Rutgers, he still has one season of eligibility remaining due to a redshirt and an additional year granted because of COVID-19.
Lynch-Adams, a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in northeast Ohio, would find himself somewhat returning home if he chose Ohio State. In 2023, he showcased his skills by rushing for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns on 236 carries, along with 118 receiving yards. Ohio State’s running back roster is already packed with talent, led by Treveyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, with Dallan Hayden waiting in the wings. There are also promising freshmen James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon.
However, if Hayden decides to explore transfer opportunities after spring practice, it could create an opening for a seasoned back to provide a bridge between the current stars and the emerging talents. The crystal ball prediction came from UMass insider Mike Traini, so it’s wise to approach it with caution. Nevertheless, if reputable analysts like Kurelic, Wiltfong, or Helwagen echo similar sentiments, it may warrant closer consideration.
On Tuesday, four-star safety Jadyn Hudson revealed that he had narrowed his college choices down to four schools: Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC. Despite receiving two crystal ball predictions in favor of the Oregon Ducks in February, a team that didn’t make his final list of contenders.
