NBA veteran Nate Robinson recently revealed that he’s still holding onto some unresolved issues with Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers. Robinson opened up about this on “The OGs” podcast, hosted by Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller. During the discussion about Rivers, Robinson recalled a situation where the coach’s actions led to him losing a significant amount of money.

Nate Robinson clarified that when discussing his grievances with Doc Rivers, he was reflecting on a specific incident during his time with the Boston Celtics. This occurred after he was traded from the New York Knicks to the Celtics before the 2010 NBA trade deadline, with Rivers serving as the head coach of the Celtics at that time.

The situation arose because Robinson missed 23 games while playing for the Knicks before being traded 53 games into the 2009-2010 season. Following the trade, Boston had two more games remaining in the season compared to New York. This raised speculation that Robinson was aiming to reach a 60-game threshold, which would trigger a $1.5 million incentive in his contract for that year.

However, Rivers made the decision to bench Robinson for the first three games after his arrival in February 2010. This move effectively capped the maximum number of games Robinson could play for the Celtics at 58, even if he participated in every remaining game. As a result, Robinson concluded the season having played only 56 games.
