The Cubs dominated the Houston Astros tonight, securing a 7-2 victory with stellar pitching from Jordan Wicks and two home runs by Mike Tauchman. Yency Almonte even clinched a four-out save. Unfortunately, Cody Bellinger sustained rib injuries from colliding with the ivy during the game. It appears the issue lies with the bricks behind the ivy. The Cubs haven’t confirmed any fractures, but Bellinger’s status for upcoming games remains uncertain pending further evaluation.
Yesterday, we polled you on which current Cubs reliever is likely to lead the team in saves by season’s end. Adbert Alzolay emerged as the top choice with 45 percent, followed by Keegan Thompson at 25 percent. Héctor Neris claimed third place with 13 percent, while Yency Almonte, who secured tonight’s save, garnered only two percent of the vote.
While Tuesday night into Wednesday morning typically skips movie discussions, jazz enthusiasts are always welcome. If jazz isn’t your thing, feel free to skip ahead. Your preferences won’t offend us.
