Tennessee’s SEC debut on September 21st against a fresh adversary, Oklahoma, will have one of its defensive linemen expected to enter the transfer portal sidelined for the game.
A report came out yesterday stating that Jayson Jenkins would enter the portal.
Monday saw the emergence of a report indicating that defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins intended to enter the spring transfer portal in search of a new college football opportunity. Jenkins, a three-star recruit from the class of 2022, appeared poised to depart Knoxville, having played in six games last season with just four tackles to his name.
Initially, it appeared Jenkins was set to leave without looking back. However, just twenty-four hours after the report surfaced, he indeed entered the transfer portal.
Jenkins seemed to change his mind.
Jayson Jenkins has decided against entering the NCAA transfer portal, as confirmed by Ryan Callahan from 247sport.com. Callahan states that Jenkins never formally initiated the process to add his name to the transfer portal before opting to remain at Tennessee.
Within a day of this decision, Jenkins, a defensive lineman for Tennessee, has reaffirmed his intention not to enter the transfer portal.
