Ole Miss has entered the competition for Winona (Miss.) High School linebacker Tyler Lockhart by extending him an offer, which he received on Tuesday. Lockhart, standing at 6-3 and weighing 200 pounds, is highly regarded, being a four-star prospect ranked as the 16th best linebacker nationally and the fourth best player in Mississippi’s 2025 class according to 247Sports. He holds the 133rd spot in the national Top247 rankings.
While Mississippi State and Auburn are currently seen as the frontrunners, Ole Miss is looking to make up ground in recruiting Lockhart. He is scheduled to visit Auburn officially on June 14th. Apart from Ole Miss, Lockhart has received offers from several other schools including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Memphis, Southern Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, Toledo, South Florida, and FCS Jackson State.
