Dallas Sims, a wide receiver from the Gophers football program’s 2024 recruiting class, who began attending the university in January, declared on Tuesday via the X platform his decision to enter the transfer portal. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 195 pounds, Sims hails from Winnipeg and played high school football at Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International. He took part in the team’s winter conditioning sessions and spring practice.
Rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Sims committed in March 2023 after receiving offers from 18 other FBS programs, including Indiana, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, and Boston College.
Sims becomes the 18th Gophers player to enter the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2023 season, while Minnesota has welcomed 11 new additions from the portal. Among the incoming transfers is Tyler Williams, a former four-star recruit from Georgia.
Tuesday marked the closing day for football players to enter the spring transfer portal window.
