Breaking: Louisville’s lose another key man to the Badgers via the portal and confirm his departure

The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a defensive lineman from the transfer portal by persuading Brandon Lane, formerly with the Louisville Cardinals, to join their team. Lane, a redshirt sophomore, brings three years of eligibility after initially playing for Stephen F. Austin. In his previous season as a redshirt freshman in 2023, Lane demonstrated his prowess with 45 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

His addition bolsters the Badgers’ defensive rotation, addressing their need for depth, especially following the departure of several players in the offseason. At 6’3 and 300 pounds, Lane’s physical presence promises to strengthen the team’s interior defense.

While Wisconsin did recruit Albany transfer Elijah Hills to shore up their defensive line, Lane’s arrival fulfills their search for a transfer portal addition. With Lane on board, the Badgers anticipate his immediate impact in the 2024 season, along with the prospect of his continued contribution over the coming years.
